If you use the Internet at all (and you clearly do if you’re reading this), you’ve probably heard by now that Twitter officially made blue check marks available only to those willing to pay.  Here’s the thing about that, though:

THIS. IS. NOT. NEWS. At least, not to 2023 Twitter users.

Elon Musk made it abundantly clear that he intended to make check marks a ~paid~ feature back when he first took ownership of Twitter last November.  So, the fact that celebrities (or more accurately, pseudo-celebrities who desperately need their egos put in check—no pun intended) are throwing a major hissy fit is, to put it simply, f*cking hilarious.

Here are just a few of my favorite tweets about the plight of these first-worlders:

George from Seinfeld is quitting (for real this time).

Remember Jason Alexander? Well, now he’s leaving Twitter, all because of Elon Musk. 😤

Steven King’s ~setting the record straight.~

Alyssa Milano seems to think she has grounds for a lawsuit.

alyssa milano is going to sue ~allegedly~

She’ll see you in court! (Also, note how she’s since tried to limit replies 🙃)

And some lady named Bette is SUPER upset. 😆

Bette Midler had a no good, very bad, terrible, horrible day

But don’t worry, guys, Elon’s got all these millionaires’ backs…and that’s really what matters at the end of the day.

Elon Musk gives back to those in need

Isn’t it cute how he used the word “celebrity”?
